Recording day 1: From ideas to music magic

From writing my songs from scratch to stepping into the studio to record the demos—what a magical experience this is! Being fully immersed in this process without any outside stressors (like a day job!) makes it so much more enjoyable and has unleashed a side of my creativity I didn’t even know existed.
Day 1 of recording was a whirlwind. I decided to beautify myself for this momentous occasion with a touch of minimal makeup—something I hadn’t done in months! I’m so glad I taught myself how to apply makeup with my ‘25 Days of Beauty Challenge.’ It’s definitely proving to be a timesaver.
Vocal warm-ups were another new experience for me. I had no idea you’re meant to work out your voice just like your body. It’s been a game-changer and has now become a regular part of my daily routine. The unique facial expressions that come with it are just a bonus and have, funnily enough, helped me not take myself too seriously. It’s the little things that bring so much joy!
In the studio, the magic unfolded beautifully. Alicia, my phenomenal session pianist, brought her enchanting melodies to life in the grand piano room, while I focused on laying down the vocals and Josh expertly managed the recording process in the control room. What a change from my makeshift home studio, where I’d stumble through all the technical mumbo-jumbo! We managed to record 4 demos in just one session—results that are simply not possible when working in isolation.
Witnessing how each day in the studio transforms my musical ideas into tangible songs is truly incredible. This experience reaffirms why I treasure every step of the creative journey. With only 6 months to go, I’m savoring every moment and basking in its glory, not missing a single experience, whether good or bad.
