Another Song, Another Adventure

I’m thrilled to share another glimpse into my songwriting journey with you! The process behind this song has been nothing short of an adventure. Sometimes, a song comes together effortlessly, while other times, it takes months—or even years—to find its form. This particular tune took its sweet time, evolving over several months.
One of the most exciting moments was when inspiration struck, and the song seemed to materialise out of nowhere. One minute, my mind was a blank slate, and the next, I found myself strumming chords on my guitar, with lyrics flowing naturally. Despite my basic guitar skills, it felt like the perfect instrument for this song.
In the past, I let my limitations hold me back. Fear of not being good enough often stifled my growth. I used to think that being a maestro on the guitar or piano was essential to being a songwriter or singer. But I’ve learned that an artist doesn’t need to be perfect in every aspect. It turns out that having a few unique strengths—like my words and my voice—is more than enough. It’s funny how we tend to sell ourselves short; it’s such a human thing to do.
Collaboration is the answer to overcoming these creative barriers. Once again, Alicia, my incredibly talented pianist, has brought out the full potential of my song—something I couldn’t have achieved on my own. I’m incredibly grateful for her support and overwhelmed with joy at finding a way to bring my songs to life.
Reflecting on this creation, I’m in awe of how ideas evolve and come to life. This one, in particular, holds a special place in my heart. Without collaboration, it might have ended up in my archive of unseen and unheard creations.
