Behind the Scenes of My Songwriting Journey

The journey of crafting a piece of art is unique to each individual. We all tap into a space that is essentially unknown, pulling ideas from seemingly nowhere and bringing them to life. It’s such a magical experience—one I wish everyone could experience at least once in their lifetime.
For me, personally, every song has a different process, and each piece arrives in its own way. Sometimes, I wake from a nightmare with a recurring line plaguing my mind until I get up and breathe it into existence. Other times, a song just appears in my head out of nowhere—sometimes leading me to Google to make sure it hasn’t already been created. My favorite moments, though, are when I dream about performing an original work that I haven’t even heard yet. I jump up and quietly jot it down until my creative spirit can rest again.
This time around, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing people, bringing my visions to a level I never thought possible. One of the highlights was working with the incredible Alicia (aka Jeannie). You’re going to see a lot of her! Her piano skills added a touch of magic to my song, transforming it into something I’m incredibly proud of. If you listen closely, you might catch a snippet of her beautiful single, "May," in this week’s video.
Together, Alicia and I have been pouring our hearts into the demos for my upcoming album. Soon, they’ll be heading off to the producers for their next stage—I honestly have to pinch myself sometimes…this is such a dream! I’m excited to share this behind-the-scenes glimpse with you and can’t wait for you to hear how it all evolves.
